Museum
In 1935 vestigt het museum zich aan zijn huidige locatie; het Museumpark. Vele decennia en miljoenen bezoekers later is het gebouw uitgeput en toe aan grootschalig onderhoud. In mei 2019 is het museumgebouw dan ook gesloten om in 2026 te openen nadat asbest is verwijderd en renovatie en vernieuwing door Architectenbureau Mecanoo heeft plaatsgevonden. In het nieuwe museum wordt de kunst getoond in tentoonstellingen. Het nieuwe museumgebouw krijgt geen depot/opslagfunctie. De opslag en verzorging van de kunst vindt plaatst in het naastgelegen en publiek toegankelijke Depot Boijmans Van Beuningen.
In 1935 the museum moved to its current location; the Museum Park. Many decades and millions of visitors later, the building is exhausted and in need of major maintenance.
