Saturday, 23 September 2023: Depot Boijmans Van Beuningen Open Day

On Saturday, 23 September 2023, Depot Boijmans Van Beuningen is opening its doors to anyone who wants to visit. During this 2023 Depot Open Day, Depot Boijmans Van Beuningen offers art, guided tours and workshops. We welcome everyone who loves the museum, the Depot and the collection to the start of the cultural season. No ticket or time slot booking required.

The 2023 Depot Open Day will take place during the Depot’s regular opening hours from 11 am to 5 pm. The museum will provide a maximum number of tour guides, who will lead groups of visitors in exploring the building and its architecture. There’s no need to register for the guided tours and visitors are also welcome without taking a guided tour. Hundreds of artworks from the museum’s collection will be displayed throughout the building. There’s a special educational programme for children and also a music programme.

Several exhibitions will be open on the Saturday, including Highlights (paintings by Basquiat, Bosch, Kandinsky and Morisot, among others) and the new exhibition Art Amid the Ruins, which features paintings and drawings from the collection that tell the story of Rotterdam artists during the Second World War. The roof terrace with restaurant Renilde and a panoramic view of the Rotterdam skyline will, of course, be open.
